The annual fee is $25.00 per household. First time members who join in September or later in the year receive full membership for the balance of the year and the following year.
The annual membership benefits include:
- nine general meetings
- November Christmas potluck dinner
- priority registration for workshops and field trips to greenhouses and places of special interest to members
- ten monthly newsletters
- a Facebook group (restricted to club members who request to join)
- an opportunity to be assigned a plot at our community garden
- discounts at a number of local greenhouses, a seed company, and garden centres. Refer to the Resources page for more information about these local companies.
Club members volunteer to support and participate in Club activities, which include taking turns bringing light refreshments to meetings, donating gardening-related items to our monthly raffle, assisting in the annual plant sale, serving on committees, and being elected to the Club’s Board of Directors.
General meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at the Strathcona County Community Centre, 401 Festival Way, Sherwood Park, Alberta, in the Council Chambers from 7-9 pm. There are no meetings in August, November, and December.
