The Club welcomes new members to join us. The annual fee is $25.00 per family. Visitors to a general meeting pay a small fee of $5.00. You may request to have the $5 applied as a discount to your membership if you decide to join. First time members who join in September or later in the year receive full membership for the balance of the year and the following year.
The annual membership benefits include 9 general meetings, November Christmas Party, priority registration for workshops and field trips to greenhouses and places of special interest to members, a monthly newsletter and discounts at a number of local greenhouses, seed companies, and garden centers.
Club members volunteer to support and participate in Club activities, which include taking turns in bringing light refreshments to meetings, assisting in the annual plant sale, and serving on committees and the Club’s Board of Directors.
General meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at the Strathcona County Community Center, 501 Festival Way, Sherwood Park, Alberta, in the Council Chambers from 7-9 pm. There are no meetings in August, November, and December.
See below for the Strathcona County Garden Club membership form. Completed membership forms with the $25.00 membership may be brought to a meeting or mailed or dropped off at the address of our Membership Director, as indicated on the membership form.
Please note that Old Man Creek Community Garden plots may be full for 2023. If you should like to place your name on a waiting list for 2023, please contact our Membership Director at evandermeulen@shaw.ca. If both SCGC members and non-members ask to be placed on a wait list, priority for OMCCG plot assignments will be given to Strathcona County Garden Club members.
If you are joining the Old Man Creek Community Garden, you can find the Responsibilities and Obligations sheet below.
